MY YOGA JOURNEY

I first found yoga on a rainy Seattle evening in 2011 and I have been in love with the teachings and movements of the practice ever since. Over the years I’ve practiced in many cities and settings, adding to my unique style and voice as a teacher. Among my favorites classes was one in an expat’s studio apartment while living in Seoul, South Korea (I remember kicking pots on her kitchen counter in three-legged dog), in another in beautiful beachside tent with dirt floors and prayer flags overhead in Goa, India. These experiences and my many teachers have guided my continued love for and interest in yoga.

In 2016, I completed my 200-hour RYT certification at The Pad Studios in San Francisco, and was eager to continue my training with the 85-hour RPYT certification at the Prenatal Yoga Center when I relocated to New York City in early 2018. My classes encourage proper alignment and strength building, and aim to energize and empower people in their practice.

For me, yoga is a way to take care of my mind, body and soul. It stretches my limbs and tones my muscles; it lessens burdens of stress and keeps me in the present. The quiet of yoga has made me more aware of how my body feels on a day to day basis, and where my energy levels and moods lie. It guides me to be the best version of myself.

I find true joy in sharing these ideas with people who are also drawn to (or curious about) looking inward and discovering more about themselves through the practice of yoga.
